So you've got 10 minutes. Read on to get started on making a change for the better!
Every time we represent our company at an event – whether that’s doing a financial wellness presentation, an ATA event, or working at a Teacher’s Convention – we end up having a select group of people who choose to take their future in hand. The conversation generally goes something like this:
“Every year I walk by here and think I need to sign up for that stuff one day. And then I don’t do it. Well I’m doing it. Right. Now.”
And then they take just a couple of minutes, fill out a form to set up their Group RRSP on Payroll Deduction, and walk away like they’re floating on air knowing that they’ve made an impact on their future. That’s all it takes. A couple of minutes and a double-sided form. They can go with the default investments in the plan (they’re industry-leading after all) or make changes down the road at no cost if they decide to. But in the meantime they’ve at least put something in place.
We don’t kid ourselves, a lot of the time people totally forget that they’ve done it at all. If it comes off of their payroll they don’t even notice it happening. That is, they don’t notice until one day they get around to opening their statement – like one teacher we heard from recently – and discover that they had $15,000 that they had no idea existed. It was like they found the money in their couch.
Now here is the catch: we’ve also seen plenty of folks spending those events shopping for scented candles, surfing Instagram or Facebook, or just doing laps of the conference area. What impact are these folks having on their futures?
So here is our message: take ten minutes now – not “one of these days”—and change your life for the future.
1 - Set up your Group RRSP and/or Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA) The form will take about 3 minutes to fill out. Apply now!
2 - Sign up for Critical Illness Insurance, and if you get a Cancer diagnosis (or Heart Attack, Stroke, MS or one of 21 other critical illnesses), you’ll get a tax-free cheque -- $25,000 up to $300,000 to help pay your bills. Contact us for the application details.
3 - Talk to us about your Mortgage Insurance or Life Insurance and find out about the programs available to you. This may take a few extra minutes because everyone’s needs are different – but it will be time well invested if something ever happens to you. And isn’t it at least worth a chat to find out?
Take just a little bit of time and you’ll be amazed at the impact it can have on your life!
Come say hi at an event near you or contact us to get the (brief) conversation started!
