Protect Your Family and Your Future

As an employee of a client organization, you may have access to exclusive Capital Group Insurance Plans and preferred personal protection programs.

Life Insurance

Protect the People Who Depend on You

Life insurance is the foundation of your family’s financial security. It provides income replacement, helps manage debt, and covers final expenses if the unexpected happens.

  • Term Life Insurance: Lower premiums for coverage over a set time, ideal for temporary needs like covering a mortgage.
  • Permanent Life Insurance:Lifetime coverage that can grow a cash value, ideal for long-term protection and estate planning.

Mortgage Insurance

Keep Your Family Protected If The Unthinkable Happens

If you die suddenly, the bank will come knocking, expecting your full mortgage to be paid out. If your loved ones can’t pay off the mortgage, they’ll lose the home. Protect your family with mortgage insurance!

  • Portable protection that follows you even if you change lenders or move homes
  • Consistent, transparent coverage that does not decrease as your mortgage is paid down
  • Ability to choose your own beneficiary
  • Support from advisors who understand ATA members’ financial needs

How This Differs From Creditor Insurance

  • Creditor Insurance is built to protect the Creditor – your bank. They decide what happens to the funds from the plan — not your family
  • Mortgage insurance is underwritten at the time of application.  Once approved, your insurance is locked in, even if your health changes.
  • Creditor insurance is underwritten at the time of claim.  That means that you could pay premiums for years, and only find out at the time of claim that you weren’t eligible.

Together, these two coverages give ATA members a well-rounded safety net.

Critical Illness Insurance

Financial Support When a Serious Diagnosis Changes Everything

When a Critical Illness hits, everything changes. Even with public health care, the cost of a Cancer diagnosis in Canada is about $33,000 – from lost income to out of pocket medical costs. This is how you cover that cost.

Coverage: Heart attack, cancer, stroke, organ transplant, and 25+ other serious conditions

Why People Choose It:

  • Benefits paid upon diagnosis — typically within about 30 days
  • Tax-free lump-sum payment with no restrictions on use
  • Helps cover medical expenses, private treatment, or recovery costs
  • Supports mortgage payments, household expenses, or income gaps
  • Gives families financial certainty during an uncertain time

Disability Insurance

Income Protection if You’re Unable to Work

Losing your income is the single biggest financial risk you face. Disability insurance protects you if illness or injury stops you from working.

Why People Choose It:

  • Supports income loss, often 60-66% of income
  • Covers travel for treatment
  • Helps with home adjustments
  • Offers tax-free lump sum
  • Provides peace of mind for families

Travel Insurance

Protect yourself from astronomical medical costs and unexpected trip disruptions.

Picture this: You’ve finally landed, the bags are unpacked, and you’re ready to explore. Then, the completely unexpected happens—a sudden illness, a bad fall, or a dental emergency.

Away from home, the safety net of your provincial healthcare fades fast. Whether it’s an astronomical bill from a US hospital or a tens-of-thousands-of-dollars bill for an emergency medevac flight back home, a single medical mishap can instantly turn a dream trip into a financial nightmare.

Travel insurance is about making sure a bump in the road doesn’t derail your financial future.

Our Coverage Plans:

  • For Canadian Travellers (Per-Trip & Multi-Trip)
    • Emergency Medical: Covers ambulances, emergency dental, prescriptions, and foreign medical care.
    • All-Inclusive: Combines emergency medical with baggage coverage and trip cancellation/interruption.
    • Trip Cancellation & Interruption: Protects your investment against unforeseen events like natural disasters, travel advisories, job loss, or quarantine.
  • For Retirees
    • Flexible coverage for individual trips or continuous adventures through the Capital Retiree Health and Travel Plan.
  • For Visitors to Canada
    • Essential emergency medical coverage for tourists, work visa holders, and new immigrants awaiting government health coverage.
  • For Students
    • Up to $2 million in emergency coverage, plus non-emergency benefits (e.g., annual physicals, eye exams) for Canadians studying abroad/out-of-province and international students in Canada.

Ready to travel with peace of mind?

Features:

  • Group rates exclusive to members
  • Emergency medical coverage
  • Annual multi-trip and single-trip options
  • Direct provider link for easy enrollment
Continuous Support for Retirees
Even after leaving the workplace, many members continue working with us for continuation of health and dental benefits, income planning, insurance guidance, and ongoing support.

Retiree Health & Dental Benefits

When you retire, your employer group benefits often end right when you might need them most.

The Capital Retiree Health & Travel Plan (provided by Victor Insurance) provides predictable, budget-friendly coverage to replace your workplace health, dental, and travel benefits.

Key Plan Options:

  • Option 1: Health with optional Annual Travel
  • Option 2: Health & Dental with optional Annual Travel

Why Choose This Plan?

  • Flexible Travel Coverage: Choose between 30 to 180 days of coverage per trip. The best part? You can adjust this duration every year to perfectly match your changing travel lifestyle without having to requalify.
  • Guaranteed Acceptance: If you are 50+ and enroll within 90 days of leaving or “aging out” of your group plan, there are no medical questions or underwriting required. There is no maximum enrollment age when transitioning off an employer-paid plan.
  • No Age Banding: Your premium rates are based on your province of residence, not your age. This keeps costs stable and prevents unexpected increases as you get older.
  • Lifetime & Survivor Coverage: Protection for both you and your spouse for life. In the event of death, coverage converts to a single plan and continues seamlessly.

Retiree Financial Planning & Investments

Approaching retirement requires a shift in your financial strategy.

As you transition from growing your wealth to utilizing it, Capital Estate Planning provides expert guidance to protect your savings and create a reliable income stream.

Key Steps for Retirement Readiness:

  • Consolidation: Consolidating your accounts with us simplifies your finances (less paperwork!), allows you to see the big picture, and makes the eventual transition to retirement income much smoother.
  • Re-examining Your Investment Mix: While your working years were focused on aggressive growth, retirement planning shifts focus to protecting what you have built. We help you transition.
  • Choosing the Right Retirement Income Options: Turning your savings into an income stream (the “back end” of your RRSP) can seem confusing, but it doesn’t have to be. We help you choose the right tools.
